NEW YORK, NY – Q.B.R. (Queers, Beers & Rears) returns to the Cake Shop on Saturday, March 7, 2009. This month we bring you a “BROOKLYN QUEER PUNK INVASION” with GIRLCRUSH, THE HANDJOBS, and THE QUEENING. The Q.B.R. Boys – GO-KARFF, SIR LOINS & A. MARTINI – will host and spin a mix of punk, rock, homocore, dancepunk, death disco, electro and more. The Cake Shop is located at 152 Ludlow in the Lower East Side. Doors at 10PM, 21+, $5 before 12am, $8 after. Tickets at the door.
What began as a dream in the glimmer of a dyke-to-be's eyes, slowly blossomed into an in-your-face, balls-to-the-wall pop-punk foursome. GIRLCRUSH is comprised of lyrical and melodic styling’s by a queer front-lady, musical concoctions lent by an ex-member of the Ergs, and a roster that includes members of The Unlovables, The Fun, Lost Locker Combo, and The Homewreckers. These anthemic songs will make you want to dance so hard, you'll forget they're mostly about crying over stupid
