NEW YORK, NY – The QxBxRx (Queers, Beers & Rears) Boys are hosting the 2-Year Anniversary Bash of QxBxRx at the Cake Shop on Saturday, February 7, 2009. Two years ago, the QBR boys started the party at Cyn Lounge in Brooklyn, and have since moved it to the Cake Shop, booked dozens of live local, national and international rock-n-roll, dance and queercore bands, and will continue to party in 2009! This month we welcome back some of our favorite QBR veterans to play a special showcase, which includes HOLY HAIL (ex-Fannypack), MKNG FRNDZ (feat. Tami Hart), THE RUFFIAN ARMS & LOVE OR PERISH (ex-Peechees). DJ GUY of Toilet Boys/Squeezebox fame will join the QxBxRx Boys – GO-KARFF, SIR LOINS & A. MARTINI – spinning a mix of classic punk, rock, homocore, dancepunk, and more. The Cake Shop is located at 152 Ludlow in the Lower East Side. Doors are at 9PM, show starts at 10PM, 21+, and there’s an $8 cover (or $5 before 11PM). Tickets are available at the door.

Born from a Fourth of July Brooklyn rooftop party in 2005, HOLY HAIL is Kevin Cooke, Cat Hartwell, Michally K, and whichever friend is up for filling in the role of drummer. Their sound crosses several genres but always has a story to tell in their lyrics and some dancing to be had in their beats. After touring Europe with the UK's New Young Pony Club and Brazil's Bonde do Role, Holy Hail just released their debut album last November, Independent Pleasure Club - out now on Kanine records. MKNG FRNDZ, featuring Tami Hart (of Winning Looks, Kill Rock Stars), and Daniel Erickson, the cute bar back at Nowhere, Metropolitan and Sugarland, return to the party to get the crowd horny, wet, and stinky. Based in Brooklyn, this cheeky and straight in-your-face flirty duo is guaranteed to make you dance. Come check ‘em out before they blow up! For more info, visit www.myspace.com/makingfriendz.

One year has passed since their first show, and THE RUFFIAN ARMS – now a quintet – are still into dildos, exhibitionism, debauchery, and rocking out (of course). They combine early rock fury, scandalous semi-nudity, and pure sassy fun for an entertaining experience through and through – guaranteed! With choreographed cheerleaders and a hot ass (in jockstraps) back up band, their trashy, punky, rockabilly-esque sound will get the room bouncing.
